Visited on a Thursday lunchtime in January. The Beacon is in the former Pi premises, as the previous reviewer has pointed out. Three hand pulls at the bar, all of which were on at the time of my visit, offering Ridgewalker (Brew York x Weekend Project collaboration), Mobberley Pale and Thornbridge Brother Rabbit. 8 keg taps with various options too.

It was dead at the time of my visit with me as the sole customer. Another bloke came in with a dog a bit later, but it's possible he was the barman's mate or colleague.

I liked it when it was Pi and it seems to have kept a similar formula - I would be happy to return.

The GBG Book has this down as PI but its still showing on the online app as GBG recommended and under the name of the Beacon. I can only assume its the same owners, as I thought new takeovers warranted an automatic dropping from the guide.

Shop conversion with plenty of outdoor seating. Red Willow Feckless in fine condition.

Very popular, understandably.

Such a lovely place, Altrincham.

A shop conversion, boarded floor, exposed brick chimney breast unfortunately missing a fire these days, the bar is at the back of the front room but another little side room exists at the back. Seating at small round tables, beer adverts on the walls, many for Belgian varieties, very enthusiastic beer knowledgeable barman. Tatton Blonde, Saltaire Amarillo Gold, and Red Willow Headless. There is a wide range of world bottled beers, menus on the tables, food is Pieminister pies (£4.95) with add ons like peas or gravy for a quid.
A nice little bar, a good touch was the complimentary bowl of peanuts. Liked it.
